Things are moving along smoothly so far.
We cleaned the carpets ourselves and had the rental company paint everything (their standard off white) and we’ve painted the munchkin’s room, and bought a new bed for ours, which is fabulously comfortable in case you were wondering.
It was a pretty exciting trip to Ikea since we’d been planning on waiting and buying a bed together as a Christmas present to each other.
It definitely makes it feel more like “our” home.
AND we didn’t really have to pay for it, JME’s mom gave us a $400 gift card for Ikea and it was the one thing that we’d been planning on buying there, and it was just enough for the bed, 2 nightstands and a movie shelf for the basement.
Very generous and amazing timing!
I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this before but JME is letting me paint our room purple..
Which I’m totally stoked about :P
I’ve never had an urge to do it before and now, suddenly, that I’m sharing my room with a boy I have a very strong desire to..
The munchkin and I painted half of it yesterday and so far it looks amazing, it goes fabulously with our new bed and the bedding and pillows I bought a little while ago.
As soon as it’s finished completely I will post new photos!
We painted the munchkin’s room “Energy Green,” which is very appropriate and totally suits him, not to mention: he loves it.
He’s incredibly excited to go to sleep at night now and loves hanging out in his room and playing.
So far things are going smoothly.
And even though I know they’re bound to get bumpier as time moves on and money gets tighter while we wait to hear back from a fabulous job that JME applied for I’m going to hold on to the notion that things are going smoothly and wonderfully now.
I’m going to stay positive and enjoy everything now and not stress out about what may or may not happen in the future.
Because, life is just too short, am I right?
Live life, love life, be happy.

I've hung some photos and put his easel in there. It still needs another coat of paint and I need to hang his night lights but I'll post a new photo when it's completely finished!
I love his room! I can’t wait until Anna and I get to that point where we can settle into our own home outside of my parents’ house :)

I totally want to buy that same bed and side tables from IKEA. Probably won’t till we move back to the States because the exchange rate is in the crapper. LOVE IT!
